Do I have to register for the conference separately from signing up for volunteer tasks?
No. If you have completed your volunteer shift registration online via the greenbuildexpo.org website, you are also registered for the Greenbuild conference.
Why do I need to sign up with a credit card? Will I be charged for the conference?
If you fulfill the full 8 hour volunteer commitment, your credit card which you submitted with the online Registration will not be charged. If you do not complete 8 hours, your credit card will be charged. If you simply do not come to Greenbuild at all, you will not be charged.
What if I need to switch my volunteer shift? What is the last day to switch volunteer shifts?
You can do this at the Greenbuild website.
How do I know what I’m going to be doing during my shift?
During any time period there are variety of tasks that will need to be completed. There is no way to pre-select which jobs you’re going to be working. You can find the list of jobs in the pages above.
How do I get my Greenbuild conference volunteer pass?
Passes will be created for all volunteers and will be ready to be picked up at the volunteer check-in room. You will need to bring valid ID.
What is valid ID for the conference?
You need to show proof of full time enrollment in a college or university, such as a current transcript or Enrollment form, or government issued picture id showing that you are age 25 or under. Student identification alone is not sufficient proof of enrollment.
Where do I go to check into the conference?
To check in to your volunteer shifts, but also to get your conference bag, and name badge please go to the volunteer office located in room 201B in the conference center.
What happens when I check in for the conference?
When you check in, you will receive a conference badge, volunteer t-shirt, and Greenbuild bag including conference materials.
Where do I go to fulfill my volunteer commitment?
All volunteers will report to the Greenbuild volunteer room before beginning their duties. Check in 15 minutes before your shift. You must check in and check out before and after every shift.
When should I arrive at the volunteer room?
At least 15 minutes prior to the shift starting.
Does that time count towards my 8 hours?
It does not; it is a orientation to make sure that volunteers are familiar with their job.
Will I need a car if I am volunteering offsite?
No, transportation will be provided to volunteers. Check in at the volunteer room and you will be directed to transportation to the offsite location.
