LEED 101: Green Building Basics and LEED

If you're new to green building and want to learn the basics, this course is for you. Learn about USGBC; green building motivators, principles, best practices, regulations and incentives; and fundamentals of the LEED rating systems. If you want to learn about LEED in greater detail, including specific strategies, metrics and referenced standards – or if you are pursuing the LEED Green Associate credential – you should consider LEED 201: Core Concepts & Strategies instead.
Healthcare 251: Understanding the LEED for Healthcare Rating System
Tuesday, October 4 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Learn about the unique challenges of implementing green building practices to healthcare facilities. This workshop overviews the development of the LEED for Healthcare Rating System and presents a strong business case for the use of LEED for Healthcare. Learn about key LEED credit intents and requirements, pilot credits relevant to LEED for Healthcare, and how this new rating systems differs from LEED for New Construction. Required prior coursework: LEED 201: Core Concepts & Strategies or equivalent knowledge.
Retail 251: Understanding the LEED for Retail Rating Systems
Tuesday, October 4 1 – 5 p.m.
Learn about the unique challenges of implementing green building practices to retail spaces. This workshop provides an overview of the LEED for Retail Rating System, key credit intents and requirements, and the similarities and differences of this rating system to both LEED for New Construction and LEED for Commercial Interiors. Required prior coursework: LEED 201: Core Concepts & Strategies or equivalent knowledge.
