Provided by The American Insitute of Architects
Room 196A

The AIA 2030 Commitment is a voluntary national program for AIA member firms and other entities working in the built environment. Bill Worthen, AIA LEED AP, will moderate a panel of firm principals presenting the reasons for joining the 2030 Commitment, the sustainable design and business strategies they have implemented within their offices and on their projects, and the challenges faced in transforming how they design projects and operate as a firm to reduce the negative impact of the design and construction industry on climate. Provided by Green Education Foundation
Room 184BC

Currently there are limited national education programs providing comprehensive green building education to K-12 students. SU09: Specifying Products to Achieve Environmental Performance: Using CSI Format and Practice Guidelines to Translate LEED Project Goals to Select and Specify Products

Provided by Construction Specifications Institute
Room 190A

LEED is about projects; however, products have a significant influence on the ultimate outcome of a LEED project. Achieving the broad goal of an environmentally responsible project requires the consideration and weighing of many factors. Specifiers—anyone establishing detailed requirements that achieve design intent—must be able to look into the components of the design and make selections that consider a wide range of variables. To do this requires an organized and disciplined approach to researching, evaluating and specifying products that meet project goals. CSI will provide an update on its efforts to help specifiers and product manufacturers meet the challenge of in-depth product assessment using GreenFormat and other CSI Formats and Practice Guidelines to achieve project performance.
