American Institute of Architects (AIA)

AIA/CES credit is available for concurrent Educational Sessions, LEED Workshops, International Summit sessions and off-site education sessions. To see the list of approved sessions, view the scheduler, or view the complete list of approved courses. All approved sessions are approved for LU-HSW-SD hours.

USGBC has applied to AIA's Continuing Education System for Continuing Education (CE) Hours for all tours, some specialty updates, and special sessions. Check back this fall for an update on the approval status.

Session Attendance Recording

If you provided your AIA number during registration, simply make sure your badge gets scanned when you arrive at each session, and that you submit your AIA number during registration. (To provide your AIA number, click here, log into your Greenbuild account and click on the GBCI & AIA Numbers button)

The session number and the number of Learning Units (LUs) will be recorded in an electronic database once you scan your badge. The number of LUs per session is equal to its length, so a one and a half hour session is equal to one LU. If you did not provide your AIA number during registration, please go to our registration booths and request that your AIA number be added to your file before attending any sessions. When you do so, we can ensure that your sessions are reported correctly and in a timely manner to AIA/CES.

Submission

The U.S. Green Building Council will automatically submit your sessions and LUs accumulated to AIA. You can print a certificate of your session attendance for your records from the scheduler after the conference in case of any discrepancies on your transcript. You must submit your AIA number during registration for this credit to be automatically applied.
